Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh reaffirmed the Vietnamese Government's commitment to rapidly resolving obstacles for foreign investors and welcomed European firms to join the country’s high-growth, green transition agenda during a working session with the EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) and the European Chamber of Commerce in Viet Nam (EuroCham) on November 27.

Although the EU – Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) has elevated the economic and trade relations between the two sides to new heights, there remains vast potential for further development, requiring joint efforts from management agencies and business communities, heard a forum held in Ho Chi Minh City on October 17.

Viet Nam is witnessing a steady rise in foreign direct investment (FDI) from Europe, with increasing businesses viewing the country as a strategic destination, particularly in clean energy, high technology, semiconductors, and infrastructure.

Despite global market turbulence and some delays in domestic reforms, European businesses continue to express strong confidence in Viet Nam’s long-term economic prospects, according to the latest Business Confidence Index (BCI) report released by the European Chamber of Commerce in Viet Nam (EuroCham) on June 30.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son received a delegation of the EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) and the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) in Hanoi on February 15, affirming that his ministry will actively work with other ministries and sectors to promote bilateral trade and investment links.

Vietnamese enterprises should focus on meeting quality requirements and ensuring green and sustainable growth, experts said at the Vietnam-EU Trade Forum held in Ho Chi Minh City on September 29.
