Import-export activities continue to be one of the important drivers of economic growth. However, high logistics costs are reducing business profits.
In 2025, the durian sector marked a leap in growth, with export turnover reaching approximately 4 billion USD, accounting for nearly 50% of the country’s total fruit and vegetable export value.
Within the first 10 months of 2025, the country’s fruit and vegetable export turnover reached approximately 7.05 billion USD, up 14.4% compared with the same period in 2024. This impressive growth impetus raises expectations that the sector will set a new milestone of more than 8 billion USD for the whole of 2025.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has tasked the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment with leading efforts, in coordination with relevant agencies, to research and implement measures that encourage and support enterprises in sustainably developing Viet Nam’s agricultural and aquatic exports.
