The Department of Information and Education, under the General Department of Politics of the Viet Nam People’s Army, organised a scientific seminar titled “Ideological and Cultural Work in Building a Politically Strong Army” in Ha Noi on April 22. Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Duc, Director of the Department of Information and Education, chaired the seminar.

Lieut. Gen. Vongsone Inpanphim, Deputy Minister of Defence, Chairman of the General Department of Politics of the Lao People’s Army (LPA), and his spouse are paying an official visit to Viet Nam from August 10 - 14, at the invitation of General Trinh Van Quyet, Chairman of the General Department of Politics of the Viet Nam People’s Army (VPA).

On the afternoon of July 30, Lieutenant General Truong Thien To, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Politics of the Viet Nam People's Army, inspected and encouraged forces practicing for parades and marches at Hoa Lac High-Tech Park and National Military Training Centre No. 4.

The Party leader requested the General Department of Politics to direct the entire military to intensify solutions for building a politically strong army that remains closely connected to the people.

To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and a delegation of the Party Central Committee paid a visit to and held a working session with the General Department of Politics of the Viet Nam People's Army, on July 23 in Ha Noi.

General Luong Cuong, Chairman of the General Department of Politics under the Vietnam People's Army (VPA), is leading a delegation to pay an official visit to Laos from November 17-19.
