The seminar is a practical activity marking the 80th anniversary of the traditional day of the Department of Information and Education and the Army’s Information and Education sector (May 11, 1946–May 11, 2026).
Delivering the opening speech, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Duc stated: Over 80 years of construction, combat, and development, the Department of Information and Education has always demonstrated absolute loyalty to the Fatherland, to the Party, the State, and the people; and has effectively fulfilled its function of advising and directing ideological and cultural work within the Army. Thereby, it has met the requirements of tasks in each revolutionary stage, contributing to making ideological and cultural work always the soul, lifeblood, and foundation that creates the combat strength and victories of our Army.
In order to further improve the quality of ideological and cultural work, the seminar provided an opportunity for delegates to focus on clarifying the position and role of such work in building a politically strong Army in the current context.
Delegates unanimously affirmed that ideological and cultural work holds a particularly important position and role in promoting political and spiritual factors — the fundamental and foremost factors determining the combat strength and victory of our Army.
Analysing the current situation of ideological and cultural work in the Army in recent times, several delegates boldly proposed specific solutions to enhance the quality and effectiveness of this work in order to meet the requirements of building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern Viet Nam People’s Army in the new era of development. Accordingly, they clarified the requirements, tasks, and forces involved in ideological and cultural work, especially the role of the Department of Information and Education in key areas.
Many delegates focused on analysing and clarifying the reactionary nature of the arguments of hostile forces opposing our country’s revolution, and proposed solutions to effectively struggle on the ideological and theoretical front, refuting the wrongful viewpoints of hostile forces.
Concluding the seminar, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Duc assessed that the seminar’s results provide an important basis for agencies and units to concretise ideological and cultural work into their annual programmes and plans, thereby improving the ideological and political quality of officers and soldiers. This contributes to creating unity in awareness and action, enhancing the quality and effectiveness of ideological and cultural work across the entire Army, and meeting mission requirements in the new situation.
