Secretary of the Government Party Committee and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a conference on March 3 to announce and present the Politburo's and the Government leader's decisions on several key personnel appointments to the Government Party Committee, the Government Office, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with officials and staff of the Government Office in Ha Noi on February 23, extending Lunar New Year (Tet) greetings and directing immediate action on the first working day after the nine-day holiday.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh attended the year-end review conference and the Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Government Office on December 17.
