Ho Chi Minh City on July 1 simultaneously broke ground on eight major infrastructure projects worth more than 253 trillion VND (9.6 billion USD) to mark the 50th anniversary of Sai Gon-Gia Dinh officially being named after President Ho Chi Minh (July 2, 1976–2026).

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, during a meeting on November 14, called on ministries, agencies, and An Giang province to intensify efforts and accelerate the implementation of infrastructure projects in preparation for the APEC Economic Leaders' Week 2027.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung has urged the acceleration of efforts to ensure the timely completion of infrastructure projects serving the 2027 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week.
