Measurable progress must be achieved by the end of 2026 in reducing administrative procedures, removing institutional bottlenecks and improving legal frameworks across key sectors, Party General Secretary and State President To Lam stressed while chairing the first meeting of the central steering committee for institutional perfection and law enforcement in Ha Noi on June 22.

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) Central Committee and State President To Lam on June 16 called for stronger judicial cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos while receiving Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Khamphan Phommathat, who is in Viet Nam to attend the 7th expanded justice conference of Vietnamese and Lao border provinces.

After one year of implementation, Resolution No. 66-NQ/TW dated April 30, 2025, issued by the Politburo on reforming law-making and law enforcement to meet the country’s development requirements in the new era, has gradually begun to reshape both the drafting and enforcement of laws, serving as proof of a deep institutional reform aimed at fostering development.

The mechanism launch comes amid increasingly close cross-border ties among local communities while also addressing growing challenges posed by transnational crimes such as smuggling, illegal migration, drug trafficking and human trafficking.
