Continuing the second phase of its sixth session, the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee on September 24 discussed a draft law amending and supplementing several articles of the Law on Intellectual Property.

Viet Nam’s Law on amendments and supplements to several articles of the Law on Intellectual Property (IP) aims to transform patents, trademarks and copyrights into genuine corporate assets that can be valued, traded, booked on balance sheets and used as loan collateral, especially for artificial intelligence (AI), emerging and digital technologies.

The draft revised Law on the Press sets out new rules for press agencies' operations in cyberspace, requiring all online activities to comply with press legislation, cybersecurity standards, each outlet’s editorial mandate, and relevant international commitments.
