The Ministry of Construction has approved the investment project to complete and expand Cu Mong Tunnel on the eastern section of the North–South Expressway, with a total investment of more than 900 billion VND from the state budget. The project is expected to be basically completed by the end of 2026 and put into operation in 2027.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked ministries, agencies, and localities to promptly address obstacles facing major transport projects to complete all set goals as there is a significant workload ahead, and only less than four months remaining until the end of 2025.
