When love for Viet Nam’s seas and islands is cultivated in schools

Love begins with the simple things. When it comes to love for the seas and islands of the homeland, it may begin with a question raised in class, a page in a book depicting images of Truong Sa (Spartly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel), the first time a student hears stories of maritime patrols, or the moment a student confidently provides the correct answer to a question about the nation’s sovereignty over its seas and islands.

Winners of “I Love My Homeland’s Seas and Islands” competition announced

The Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence held a gala in Ha Noi on August 23 to present awards for the 2025–2026 “I Love My Homeland’s Seas and Islands” Contest. General Phan Van Giang, Politburo Member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, attended the event.
