General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee and President To Lam on August 25 called for stronger and more effective social welfare policies to ensure that every Vietnamese citizen, regardless of where they live or their circumstances, is protected against major risks, has access to essential services and enjoys opportunities for development.

Viet Nam is increasingly affirming its position as a proactive nation in building trust and advancing peaceful solutions to conflicts, said Pallab Sengupta, President of the World Peace Council.

Many social welfare policies for the elderly implemented by the Ho Chi Minh City authorities not only go beyond statutory requirements but also reflect the city’s humanitarian values, contributing to improving the spiritual well-being of senior citizens and the community as a whole.

Hoang Quoc Khanh, former Secretary of the Son La provincial Party Committee, has been appointed to join the Party Committee of Lang Son province and its Standing Board, and serve as Secretary of the committee for the 2025-2030 tenure from October 15, 2025.

With the goal of becoming a truly livable city where every citizen enjoys material and spiritual well-being, lives in a safe environment, and has access to healthcare, education, and social welfare, Ho Chi Minh City is gradually turning this vision into reality through practical policies.
