Party General Secretary and State President To Lam and other Party and State leaders attended the second meeting of the Central Steering Committee on Vietnamese Cultural Development on July 13.

Party General Secretary and State President To Lam chaired a working session with the education and training sector and relevant agencies on the morning of June 15 in preparations for the 2026-2027 academic year, as well as the implementation results of the Politburo’s Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in education and training development.

Party General Secretary and State President To Lam chaired a working session with the Central Public Security Party Committee and relevant agencies to give opinions on the project “Building an orderly, disciplined, safe, healthy, civilised, harmonious and developed society”. The 16th National Assembly (NA) elected General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam, a deputy to the 16th legislature, as State President for the 2026–2031 term at its first session on April 7.

Presenting a draft resolution on the election of the State President, NA General Secretary and Chairman of the NA Office Le Quang Manh stated that, based on the Constitution, relevant legal provisions and the official vote-counting record, the legislature resolved to elect Party General Secretary To Lam as State President.

State President Luong Cuong received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Viet Nam, the Ambassador of the Commonwealth of Dominica to Viet Nam, and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Viet Nam, who came to present their letters of credentials and assume their duties in Viet Nam. State President Luong Cuong hosted a reception in Ha Noi on February 3 for Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Politburo member and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, who is visiting Viet Nam as special envoy of the Communist Party and the State of Cuba.

On the morning of September 29 at the Presidential Palace, State President Luong Cuong received Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin, who led a high-ranking Russian delegation on an official visit to Viet Nam and co-chaired the 4th meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee between the National Assembly of Viet Nam and the State Duma of the Russian Federation, held from September 28 to 29.
