Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on October 22 issued an official dispatch instructing ministries and localities to mobilise all available resources to respond to heavy rain, flooding, and landslides in the central region as Storm Fengshen, the 12th storm in the East Sea/South China Sea this year, approaches Viet Nam’s coast.

Storm Fengshen, the 12th in the East Sea/South China Sea this year, has maintained its intensity and path, and is forecast to trigger torrential rains of 200–400mm and even 500mm from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai in central Viet Nam, according to National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
