Viet Nam, Thailand strengthen investment ties, smart city cooperation

Thailand is currently Viet Nam's largest trading partner within ASEAN, while Viet Nam ranks as Thailand's sixth-largest trading partner globally. Bilateral trade reached 22.07 billion USD in 2025, with both sides aiming to increase the figure to 25 billion USD in the coming years. Thailand also has 805 valid investment projects in Viet Nam with a combined registered capital of 15.4 billion USD.

Bright spot in Viet Nam-Thailand cooperation

Viet Nam and Thailand have enjoyed a vibrant and friendly partnership over the past 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties on August 6, 1976. The two countries have witnessed strong and increasingly dynamic developments in bilateral ties, especially since Viet Nam joined the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
