The Ministry of National Defence held a ceremony on March 27 to present decisions of the State President and the Minister of National Defence to two officers who are about to depart for missions at United Nations (UN) peacekeeping operations and the European Union Training Mission (EUTM).

Sen. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Viet Nam People’s Army, has proposed measures to enhance UN peacekeeping missions, emphasising improved training and equipment, international cooperation, experience sharing, digital and AI technologies, and integrating environmental protection and security into operations.

The Ministry of National Defence held a departure ceremony at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on September 22 to send off Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 7 and Engineering Unit Rotation 4 to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA).

The Ministry of National Defence on August 12 received a package of materials and equipment from the Australian Department of Defence to support the ministry's Viet Nam Department of Peacekeeping Operations.
