Building on the diplomatic relations established in 1971, Viet Nam and Switzerland are expanding cooperation in the fields of economics, finance, science, and technology. Ambassador Thomas Gass affirmed that the signing of the free trade agreement (FTA) between Viet Nam and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) would mark an important milestone, demonstrating a shared commitment to transparent trade and cooperation based on international standards.

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and Swiss President Guy Parmelin agreed to turn education – training, science – technology, and innovation into the focus of the two countries’ cooperation during their meeting in Ha Noi on October 17.
