The Viet Nam Red Cross Society (VNRC) has launched the first phase of emergency relief to assist residents in the northern and central provinces of Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, and Nghe An, which suffered severe damage from Typhoon Matmo, the 11th to form in the East Sea this year.

After just six days since the 65-day fundraising campaign '65 Years of Viet Nam – Cuba Solidarity' was launched on August 13 by the Viet Nam Red Cross Society to support Cuba, more than 1.7 million contributors joined the efforts, raising nearly 339 billion VND (nearly 13 million USD).

The Viet Nam Red Cross Society (VRCS) Central Committee on July 24 decided to launch an emergency relief operation to support households affected by flooding following Storm Wipha in the central province of Nghe An.

Vietnam recorded a trade surplus of 10.6 billion USD in the January-November period, the General Statistics Office announced on November 29.
