Top leader urges shift from emergency relief to community resilience

Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, recently becoming Honorary President of the Viet Nam Red Cross Society (VRCS) for the 2026-2031 tenure, has vowed to partner with the Party Central Committee’s Politburo and Secretariat, to improve the VRCS’s operating efficiency and fulfill its noble humanitarian mission with all possible support.

For the new term, the Viet Nam Red Cross Society will comprehensively reform its operations by placing people at the centre, communities as the foundation, digital transformation and innovation as the driver of development, and resource mobilisation as its primary approach to improve the quality and efficiency of humanitarian activities.

Vietnam Red Cross Society calls for donations for people in Turkey, Syria

In response to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and under the consent of the Prime Minister, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society has called for all committees, ministries, branches, organisations, agencies, units, enterprises, individuals, benefactors, people of all classes, and all officers, members and volunteers of Red Cross Societies at all levels to give donations to people in earthquake-hit Turkey and Syria.
