The First Viet Nam-Singapore Strategic Dialogue concluded successfully on August 25 with the issuance of a Joint Statement on Viet Nam-Singapore Technology Connectivity Strategy.

Alongside growing strategic trust between the two countries, Singaporean investment in Viet Nam has surged in recent years, giving the city state the first place among 69 countries and territories investing in Viet Nam in the first seven months of 2026 with 7.5 billion USD, accounting for 35.6% of total registered investment.

Viet Nam is pushing ahead with efforts to streamline its state apparatus, improve institutions and strengthen national governance capacity, with the ultimate goal to create new growth drivers and enhance its competitiveness and resilience amid a rapidly evolving and increasingly complex global environment, the country’s top leader said.

The leaders highly valued the trust, sincerity and mutual support that the two countries have cultivated in recent years, agreeing to continue close coordination to advance Viet Nam–Timor-Leste relations in a more substantive and effective manner, thereby contributing positively to peace, stability, cooperation and sustainable development in the region.

Viet Nam attaches great importance to expanding international cooperation in science-technology, innovation and human resources development. Technological self-reliance should be built on open cooperation, knowledge connectivity and joint capacity development rather than isolation, said top leader To Lam.

The signed documents include an MoU on cooperation between Viet Nam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Singapore’s Public Service Division, and a joint statement between Viet Nam's Minister of Industry and Trade and Singapore's Minister-in-charge of Energy and Science & Technology on strengthening supply chain resilience.

Viet Nam and Singapore have developed one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic and substantive partnerships, with bilateral ties steadily expanding and deepening over more than five decades.

The state visit to Singapore by Party General Secretary and State President To Lam is of particular importance to the continued implementation of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

Leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labour on May 13 held a working session with a delegation from Singapore's National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) to exchange experience in improving workforce quality, enhancing sustainable labour productivity and promoting technology application in trade union activities.
