Scientists from the Viet Nam Academy of Science and Technology have successfully implemented a research project to build a scientific database on bamboo resources in the Central Highlands — one of the country’s important biodiversity centres.

Viet Nam is the 4th country in the world in possessing abundant bamboo resources of various types, widely distributed. With the characteristics of being easy to grow, low maintenance costs, strong regeneration ability and continuous harvesting, bamboo is considered a plant with sustainable ecological and economic value.
