The 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) is not only an occasion to review the achievements already made, but also lay the foundation for the country’s strategic transformation in the new period, said lawyer Dang Chien Thang, offering the perspective of a Vietnamese intellectual living and working in the US.

Emphasising that the overseas Vietnamese community is an inseparable part, the flesh and blood, and a component of the great national solidarity bloc, as well as an important driving force of the country, the President highlighted the Party and State's consistent policy of caring for and supporting Vietnamese people abroad.

The Vietnamese Embassy in the US, together with representative offices of various Vietnamese agencies in Washington D.C., hosted the "Vietnamese Village Family Festival in D.C" on August 3.
