Under the theme “Kites soaring high on the wings of the mother tongue”, the 2026 Gala Honouring Vietnamese Language honoured eight Vietnamese Language Ambassadors overseas – outstanding individuals who have tirelessly contributed to spreading the Vietnamese language through their love, creativity and enduring spirit of dedication.

In a video message, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang said the initiative has spread widely among overseas Vietnamese in recent years, helping strengthen cultural identity and connect younger generations with their homeland.

A host of activities will be organised for overseas Vietnamese in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Viet Nam’s National Day (September 2, 1945 - 2025), according to information shared at a press briefing held by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ha Noi on August 6.
