The application of digital transformation has helped streamline procedures, shorten the timeline, and enhance the quality of the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly (NA) and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 tenure, according to NA Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh.

On March 15, voters across the country eagerly headed to the polls to exercise their rights and fulfil their civic duties. Among them were first-time voters who had just come of age, feeling both excited and slightly nervous, as well as families and couples who enthusiastically went to cast their ballots together.

As of 22:00 on March 15, the nationwide voter turnout had reached 99.64%, said Ta Thi Yen, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly’s Committee for Deputy Affairs and Standing Deputy Chief of the Office of the National Election Council.

At exactly 7:00 a.m. on March 15, voters across the country enthusiastically headed to more than 72,000 polling stations, marking the start of the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

Nearly 79 million eligible voters nationwide will head to the polls for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 tenure on March 15.

An inspection and supervision delegation of the National Election Council, led by Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) Tran Sy Thanh, who is also Head of the PCC’s Inspection Commission and member of the National Election Council, on March 9 held a working session with leaders of Dak Lak Province on preparations for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term.
