Tet gifts presented to workers in Hai Phong

Politburo member and Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Vo Van Thuong attended a programme to present Tet gifts to workers in the northern port city of Hai Phong on January 7.

The programme was jointly held the Hai Phong City People's Committee and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour.

Speaking at the programme, Permanent member of the PCC’s Secretariat Vo Van Thuong applauded the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour for effectively implementing a Tet programme for workers, which has displayed the sharing of agencies, departments and sectors with employees and workers across the country.

The programme has been held for the past 10 years in all parts of the country, especially in localities where many industrial parks are crowded with workers and many workers do not return to their hometowns to celebrate Lunar New Year.

At the program, the leaders presented 60 gifts to workers and employees in the city.

On behalf of city leaders, Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung presented 6 billion VND to city workers to celebrate Tet.

Leaders of Hai Phong City Confederation of Labour also donated funds to take care of Tet for workers and employees of units; awarded 400 gifts to workers participating in the programme.
