During the period, the province also granted licences to 15 new projects with a total registered capital of over VND2.14 trillion (US$94.16 million).
The province will prioritise resources for developing infrastructure in support of production and economic development to ensure a high economic growth rate in association with environmental protection and social welfare.
Thua Thien - Hue aims to attract 20 additional projects to local economic and industrial zones by the end of this year through improving the investment and business environment and infrastructure.
The local authorities will also promote administrative reform by providing 50% of administrative procedures online and offering one-stop-shop services for 100% of administrative procedures.
Major industrial zones in the province have been occupied with projects including 98.5% of the Phu Bai Industrial Zone; 74% of the Phong Dien Industrial Zone and its expanded area; and 42.5% of the Phu Da Industrial Zone.
Several investors are considering carrying out projects in the province including the US$26.4 million project by Thien Ha Kameda, US$17.6 million project by Phu Quang Spinning JSC, and the US$25.52 million projects by Asia Pacific Investment JSC.
