Thua Thien Hue receives decorations from Lao government

Thua Thien Hue Province held a ceremony on June 11 to receive several orders awarded by the Government of Laos to collectives and individuals with contributions to fostering the relations between the Vietnamese province and Lao province of Sekong, as well as between the two countries.

Under the authorisation of the Lao president, Sekong Party Secretary Leklay Sivilay presented the first-class Labour Order to the Thua Thien Hue collective leadership as well as the second-class Freedom Order to Thua Thien Hue Party Secretary Le Truong Luu.

The third-class Freedom Orders were awarded to Thua Thien Hue Deputy Secretary Phan Ngoc Tho and Thua Thien Hue Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong along with two Thua Thien Hue vice chairmen.

Speaking at the ceremony, Sekong Party Secretary Leklay Sivilay highlighted the special friendship and solidarity between the two provinces and two countries, as well as the support from Thua Thien Hue to the Lao province.

He expressed his hope that Sekong and Thua Thien Hue will undertake more meaningful cooperative activities to strengthen their special solidarity.

On behalf of the recipients, Thua Thien Hue Party Secretary Le Truong Luu stated that the awarding of the orders highlights the Lao Party and State’s recognition of Thua Thien Hue leaders.

He affirmed that Thua Thien Hue will continue implementing cooperation and support activities to strengthen the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
