Trans-Vietnam Charity Run raises funds to provide surgeries for children

The Ha Giang provincial Tourism Association in coordination with Operation Smiles Vietnam, launched the Trans-Vietnam Charity Run 2023 at midnight on January 1 at Lung Cu Flagpole in Ha Giang province.

The 14-day event attracted 10 athletes, who will engage in a total distance of more than 2,700km, from Lung Cu district to Ca Mau cape, in the southernmost province of Lao Cai.

The charity run aims to raise funds to help bring life-changing smiles, to unfortunate Vietnamese children with facial deformities, in remote and mountainous areas.

It also seeks to connect sports lovers, who will join the athletes during the running course, to spread the meaningful purpose of the event.

Before the launch ceremony, the athletes presented more than 300 gifts to elementary students in Pa Vi and Nam Ban communes, in Meo Vac district, Ha Giang province.
