The slaughtering of animals for their fresh blood not only occurs in horror films, it is actually part of a specialty here in Vietnam, with pig's blood being the most popular.

The process to make the dish is not at all that complicated.

First, the cook takes the freshly drawn blood and adds some fish sauce or salt water, then thoroughly stirs it with chopsticks. Next, some minced meat or cooked innards, herbs and groundnut are mixed in so that the blood coagulates. Some lime may also be added to make it even tastier.

Many claim that the raw version of the dish is the most delicious, but others prefer it when boiled.

However, many Vietnamese, not to mention foreign tourists, cannot bear to look at it or even sit down if there's blood pudding on the table.

So, will you dare to try this bloody dish?
