At the event, the VP presented the title of “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” to one collective and one individual, presented the title of “Heroic Vietnamese Mother” to six women, and the Government's emulation flags to nine collectives and individuals for their considerable contributions to patriotic emulation movements in the past few years.
Addressing the ceremony, Vice President Thinh emphasised that President Ho’s appeal for patriotic emulation is a motivation for the entire Party, people and the armed forces to overcome all challenges to build a more prosperous country.
She suggested that the province promotes the dissemination of information on the role-models of patriotic emulation movements to set examples for others to follow, which will contribute to the province's social-economic development.
Also on June 9, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee organised the closing ceremony of the contest on ‘Youth Studying and Following President Ho Chi Minh’s Thoughts, Morals and Style’.
At the ceremony, the organising board presented two first prizes, six second prizes, as well as third and consolations prizes to the outstanding students.
Launched from March 23 to May 22, this year’s contest attracted more than 1.1 million entries from 63 provinces across the country.
The contest’s theme focused on the teachings of President Ho Chi Minh for the younger generation, Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts over the sea and islands of Vietnam; professional ethics; achievements in the cause of national construction and defence under the leadership of the Party; exemplary models in studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, morals and style.
