The Ambassador made the remarks during a meeting with Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Investment and Industry Aleksandar Pulev to discuss measures to advance bilateral economic, trade and investment cooperation in the new period.
Building on the common understanding reached by the two countries' senior leaders, Viet Nam and Bulgaria are actively implementing their agreed cooperation orientations, with economic, trade and investment ties identified as one of the key pillars for creating new momentum in bilateral relations.
The two sides agreed to translate the directions set by senior leaders into concrete action by strengthening links among government agencies, localities and business communities, making full use of opportunities offered by the EU-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), stepping up trade and investment promotion, and implementing high-impact cooperative projects.
They also discussed priority areas for future cooperation and encouraged businesses from both countries to strengthen connections, seek partners and implement investment projects with high added value.
The meeting noted the strong complementarity between the two economies. Viet Nam can serve as a gateway for Bulgarian businesses to access the ASEAN market, while Bulgaria can provide Vietnamese enterprises with a gateway to expand their presence in the European Union market.
The two sides also exchanged views on investment cooperation models between businesses from the two countries, highlighting DANHSON Pharmaceutical Company as a successful example in the pharmaceutical sector that has helped promote technology transfer, manufacturing development, job creation and stronger economic links between Viet Nam and Bulgaria.
The participants agreed to encourage and replicate successful cooperation models to generate further momentum for bilateral trade and investment.
Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Pulev reaffirmed Bulgaria's wish to further expand cooperation with Viet Nam in the fields of economy, investment, industry and innovation.
He also expressed his hope of further promoting successful cooperation models between businesses from the two countries to support investment and trade promotion, as well as business networking.
