On the evening of 10 August, the final matches of stage 2 took place at the Ninh Binh Provincial Sports Hall, featuring the Philippines vs Indonesia and Thailand vs Viet Nam, followed by the closing and award ceremonies.
Over the three days of thrilling competition, the teams delivered impressive performances amid the passionate cheers of thousands of spectators in Ninh Binh Province.
The Vietnamese women’s team made history with an incredible comeback against Thailand.
The Thailand–Viet Nam match was tense until the very last moment. Thailand won the first two sets 25–17 and 26–24. Viet Nam fought back to take the next two sets 25–17 and 25–22, levelling the score at 2–2.
In the decisive fifth set, with the score tied at 14–14, player Bich Tuyen delivered a powerful spike to seal a 16–14 victory, giving Viet Nam a highly emotional stage 2 championship. This was both the first time Viet Nam had ever beaten Thailand — the strongest team in the region —and the first SEA V.League title in the history of Vietnamese women’s volleyball.

At the conclusion of the tournament, the organisers presented the collective awards as follows: in first place —champions of the 2025 SEA V.League — was the Vietnamese women’s volleyball team; in second place was Thailand; in third place was the Philippines; and in fourth place was Indonesia.
In addition, the organisers also presented individual awards to the players, including: the best outside hitters —Chatchu-on Moksri (Thailand) and Vi Thi Nhu Quynh (Viet Nam); the best middle blocker — Tran Thi Bich Thuy (Viet Nam); the best libero — Ylizyeth Justine Jazareno (Philippines); and the best setter — Pornpun Guedpard (Thailand). Notably, both the best opposite and the most valuable player awards went to Bich Tuyen of the Vietnamese team.
The SEA V.League is Southeast Asia’s premier volleyball competition that is held in two stages each year. This year marked its fifth edition.
Winning stage 2 of the 2025 SEA V.League is not only a sporting triumph but also a historic milestone, affirming the strong rise of Vietnamese women’s volleyball on the regional stage.
