Welcoming the diplomat, Mayor Seif Mesheleb introduced Abu Snan as a multicultural city in northern Israel, home to Druze, Muslim, Christian, and Jewish communities living in harmony.
He highlighted the city’s progress in education, healthcare, and infrastructure, and expressed interest in partnering with Viet Nam in culture, education, and sustainable development.
Mayor Mesheleb proposed establishing a twin relationship with a Vietnamese locality to encourage exchanges and joint projects in economy, education, and culture.
Ambassador Trung praised Abu Snan’s inclusive development and reaffirmed Viet Nam’s interest in boosting cooperation with Israeli localities, particularly in trade, education, tourism, and people-to-people exchange.
Both sides discussed ways to connect businesses and enhance cultural and tourism collaboration, recognising mutual understanding as key to deepening bilateral relations.
On this occasion, Abu Snan delegates watched a documentary on President Ho Chi Minh, marking his 135th birth anniversary. They expressed deep admiration for his legacy and the Vietnamese people’s resilience in the struggle for independence, as well as Viet Nam’s recent socio-economic achievements.
Ambassador Trung also joined a luncheon with representatives of social organisations and business leaders in the city.
