Viet Nam provides food aid to Lao border protection forces isolated by floods

Na Ngoi Border Guard Station (under Nghe An Border Guard Command) has recently coordinated with the Na Ngoi Commune authorities to provide timely food and essential supplies to Lao border protection forces who have been isolated for several days due to heavy rains and flooding.

Prolonged heavy rainfall caused severe landslides, isolating Platoon L10 of Border Company 224 under the Laos’ Xiangkhouang Provincial Military Command, leaving them short of food and essential goods.

In response, Na Ngoi Border Guard Station, in cooperation with the People’s Committee of Na Ngoi Commune (Nghe An Province), organised the transport and handover of relief goods — including 400kg of rice, 5 boxes of instant noodles, dried fish, eggs, fish sauce, and other essential supplies — to Platoon L10.

All supplies were carried by officers and soldiers of Na Ngoi Border Guard Station, together with local militia and residents, who crossed landslide-prone sections and flood-divided streams to deliver the goods to their Lao counterparts in time.

Earlier, despite suffering heavy damage from floods caused by the circulation of Storm No. 3, Muong Tip Commune (Nghe An) shared relief goods — including 400kg of rice, 80 boxes of instant noodles, 40 boxes of bottled water, along with clothing, shoes, and other necessities — with residents of Na Muong Village, Pha Ven Cluster, Nong Het District, Xiangkhouang Province, who had been cut off by floodwaters for many days.

These activities exemplify the spirit of solidarity, special friendship, and enduring bond between the peoples and border protection forces of Viet Nam and Laos, as they share hardships and work together to maintain peace and security along the shared border.
