At the credential presentation ceremony, Ambassador Le Quang Long conveyed the greetings and congratulations of President Luong Cuong to Governor-General Marcella Liburd and the people of Saint Kitts and Nevis. He affirmed that Viet Nam attaches importance to and wishes to further promote the friendly and multifaceted cooperation with Saint Kitts and Nevis.
Following the ceremony, Ambassador Le Quang Long paid a courtesy meeting with Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis Terrance Drew and held talks with Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs Kaye Bass.
During the meeting with Prime Minister Terrance Drew, Ambassador Le Quang Long conveyed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s greetings. The two sides discussed measures to enhance cooperation in the coming time, particularly in agriculture. The Ambassador emphasised that Viet Nam stands ready to share experience and encourage businesses from both countries to invest, cooperate in production, and promote the export of agricultural products, including rice – one of Viet Nam’s key strengths.
In his working session with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Ambassador Le Quang Long and Permanent Secretary Kaye Bass agreed to promote practical cooperation mechanisms, including submitting to the two countries’ leaders proposals to expand collaboration and technical exchanges in agriculture, tourism, renewable and geothermal energy, as well as enhancing people-to-people exchanges and offering scholarships to students.
On this occasion, Ambassador Le Quang Long expressed his sincere appreciation to the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis for its valuable support for Viet Nam’s candidacy and successful election to the United Nations Human Rights Council for the 2026–2028 term, considering it a vivid expression of solidarity and political trust between the two sides.
The Ambassador’s meetings and engagements during the working visit contributed to further consolidating the foundation of friendship between Viet Nam and Saint Kitts and Nevis, while opening up prospects for specific and substantive cooperation in various fields, in line with the interests and potential of both nations.
