Welcoming his guest, Quang said the visit took place at a time when Viet Nam–Slovakia relations are enjoying positive momentum, especially following the successful visit to Slovakia by a high-level delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security from September 27 to October 1.
He noted that after the visit, the Vietnamese Party and State leadership instructed the Ministry of Public Security and relevant agencies to promptly develop concrete cooperation plans and roadmaps with Slovak partners, with a view to deepening the bilateral partnership in a substantive and effective manner, of that security and defence cooperation remains a central pillar in the relationship.
Quang said the Party Central Committee recently issued Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthrough development in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation. At the same time, Viet Nam is completing its legal framework on security and defence industry development. These provide an important political and legal basis for the Ministry of Public Security to advance its industrial capacities and boost international collaboration to attract modern, cutting-edge technologies in service of safeguarding national security and combating crime.
Amid increasingly complex regional and global developments, with both traditional and non-traditional security challenges on the rise, Quang emphasised that his ministry has growing demand for modern equipment and seeks to build greater self-reliance in the security industry. In that process, Slovakia is regarded as a potential partner with significant room to expand cooperation.
Minister Quang expressed the ministry's desire to work with Slovak partners in research, production, and advanced technology transfer, thus contributing to maintaining national security and social order of the two countries.
Kaliňák, for his part, voiced his confidence that cooperation between Viet Nam's Ministry of Public Security and the Slovakian side will continue to grow strongly, practically and effectively, contributing to peace, stability, and shared prosperity in both nations as well as in the region and the world.
