This is the outcome of the working sessions between Vietnamese Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung with Belgian partners during his visit to the country from February 18-21.

At the working session with hub.brussels, the Brussels agency for business support, Minister Dung asked the organisation to support the National Innovation Centre of Vietnam.

While working with IMEC, one of Europe’s leading research and development centre in the fields of semiconductor and nanotechnology, the Vietnamese official called for training cooperation on electronics and semiconductor industries and assistance in enhancing the capacity for Vietnamese enterprises.

During the talks with leaders of John Cockerill, a company specialising in manufacturing machinery and industrial solutions, Dung emphasised that Vietnam wishes to further its cooperation with the Belgian company in energy.

As part of his visit, Minister Dung also worked with leaders of the Vietnamese Innovation Network in Europe (VINEU) where he affirmed its role in connecting Vietnamese and foreign experts and partners in seeking technologies for Vietnam.

On the occasion, hub.brussels, NIC and VINEU signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on innovation and startup, while IMEC and NIC signed an MoU on developing the semiconductor industry capacity for Vietnam.

John Cockerill and NIC also inked an agreement on research and development cooperation.
