Vietnam and Cambodia closely cooperate in border protection

Ho Le Border Guard Station, Kon Tum Provincial Border Guard coordinated with the combined forces of Border Police Station 505, Battalion 203, Rattanakiri Provincial Police and Infantry Platoon 3, Company 2, military sub-region Ratanakiri Province, Cambodia, to conduct bilateral patrols, on November 1.

Through this joint patrol, the two sides promptly informed each other about the situation occurring in the border area and agreed to regularly inform and exchange issues related to territorial sovereignty and border security of each country, especially promoting situational awareness and effective combat against all types of cross-border crimes, preventing intrusion, border crossing, and smuggling on the border areas, assigned to common management by the two sides.

In particular, the two sides informed each other about the first Vietnam-Cambodia border defence friendship exchange, to take place at the end of this year.

The organisation of joint patrols aims to enhance good coordination in managing and protecting the Vietnam-Cambodia border, demonstrating trust, understanding, and mutual trust in building a border of peace and friendship, cooperation and development between the border protection forces of the two countries in general and between Ho Le Station, Kon Tum Province Border Guard with Border Police Station 505, battalion 203 and Infantry Platoon 3, company 2, Battalion 2, Border Guard, Military Sub-Region of Ratanakiri Province, Cambodia, in particular.

The two sides also agreed on joint patrols in the coming time to promptly handle situations occurring in the border area.

On this occasion, Ho Le Border Guard Station supported units with food, and medicine, worth more than 12 million VND.
