Thang noted that the visit by the Japanese delegation, led by Ogata Yasuo, Vice Chairman of the Presidium of the JCP and head of its International Department, demonstrated the friendship and close cooperation between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the JCP.
He conveyed the regards of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and other senior Party leaders of the CPV to JCP Chairman Shii Kazuo.
Thang stressed that the theoretical exchange mechanism has been a pillar of the relationship between the two Parties, and suggested the two sides closely coordinate with each other to contribute to diversifying the Vietnam-Japan Extensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia.
For his part, Yasuo conveyed the regards of JCP Chairman Kazuo to Party General Secretary Trong, and congratulated Vietnam on its great, comprehensive achievements recorded under the leadership of the CPV, especially those made in COVID-19 prevention and control and economic development with a high growth rate.
He spoke highly of socialism building in Vietnam, which puts people at the centre, and noted his belief that the CPV will successfully implement the resolution adopted at the 13th National Party Congress.
Earlier the same day, the JCP delegation held talks with a CPV delegation headed by Le Hoai Trung, member of the Party Central Committee and head of its Commission for External Relations.
They briefed each other on the situation of their respective Parties and countries, and foreign policy of each country, and exchanged views on the regional and international situation.
The officials concurred to maintain high-level contacts and meetings, step up the sharing of information and experience in Party building and socialism building, both theoretically and practically, bring into full play the theoretical exchange mechanism, and coordinate with each other at regional and international forums.
