At the reception, Deputy PM Dung expressed his delight at the sound partnership between the two countries in all fields, especially in terms of economics and trade. The RoK is one of the leading economic partners of Vietnam, ranking first in investment, second in trade and ODA, and third in tourism. In 2017, bilateral trade reached US$61.5 billion.

The Deputy PM also spoke highly of the cooperation between the NACF and the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance (VCA) in the past year. Both parties have exchanged information and experiences on cooperative development and human resource development through training programmes.

He suggested that the NACF continues to support the VCA in the field of personnel training, enhance the capacity for agricultural cooperatives in Vietnam and build new cooperative models, as well as providing management skills for supermarket chain management and promoting cooperation in the field of agriculture and finance.

For his part, NACF President Kim Byeong agreed with Deputy PM Dung's suggestions, adding that the NACF is willing to provide resources and experience for Vietnam in the production chain in order to enhance the value of Vietnamese agricultural products.

He also proposed that the two countries devise more effective solutions to expand the consumption of agricultural products in each other's markets.
