Vietnam, Russia boost military technical cooperation

The Vietnam-Russia Inter-Governmental Committee on Military Technical Cooperation convened its 19th meeting in Hanoi, on October 12.

The event was co-chaired by the Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Defence Be Xuan Truong and Nikolaevich Drozhzhov, Deputy Director of the Russian Federal Service for Military Technical Cooperation.

The two sides discussed the outcomes of their cooperation under their signed agreements and set forth cooperative directions for the near future.

They expressed their delight at the positive development of the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership, which was reflected through the visits made by the two countries’ high-level leaders in 2017.

They appreciated the role of the defence and military technical cooperation in the partnership, affirming to continue fostering the cooperation in the time ahead.

The two sides discussed and reached a consensus on a military technical cooperation plan for 2018, whilst exchanging their views on the contents of the 2016-2020 military technical cooperation plans.

Deputy Minister of Defence Be Xuan Truong affirmed that the Vietnamese army and people always attach great importance to their fine traditional friendship and cooperation with the Russian army and people.
