The Ministry of Industry and Trade said the relevant sides also reached an agreement for the subsequent shipments, which can amount to thousands of tonnes of Vietnamese rice.

According to Nguyen Phu Hoa, head of the Vietnamese trade mission in Australia, the majority of people in Vanuatu are living in difficult conditions, so the rice will be reasonably priced.

Besides helping with the successful signing of the contract and the completion of banking procedures, the trade mission also visited supermarkets in Vanuatu’s capital city of Port Vila to promote Vietnamese rice.

Following efforts to advertise Vietnamese rice in Australia, the trade mission is stepping up promotion in the markets that it is also responsible for, including the island nation of Vanuatu.

Over the past three months, the trade mission has used the slogan “Vietnam - Land of the World’s Best Rice” within the region to promote and affirm the quality of Vietnamese rice.

At the same time, a campaign was also carried out to make Vietnamese rice enter distribution networks, including online channels, to make it more accessible to consumers.
