Vietnamese doctors provide free health check-ups and medicine to needy people in Laos

A working delegation of the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City, in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos and the Association of Vietnamese people in Vientiane, held a programme to provide free health check-ups and medicine to Overseas Vietnamese and needy people in Laos.

The event is among a series of activities being held in response to the Vietnam – Laos Friendship and Solidarity Year 2022, the 60th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations (1962-2022), and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Laos - Vietnam Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (1977-2022). It aims to contributing to consolidating and promoting the solidarity and friendship between the two peoples.

At the programme, doctors from hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong Province provided free health examinations and consultancy for disadvantaged Overseas Vietnamese and Lao people in the city of Vientiane.

The doctors also gave instructions on healthcare and measures to prevent common diseases, and provided health tonics, vitamins, and hand sanitizers to the participants.

Within the framework of the programme, 500 gifts worth 1 million VND each were presented to Overseas Vietnamese and Laotian people living in difficult circumstances.
