Vietnamese Embassy in China congratulates 50th National Day of Laos

On December 1, in Beijing, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh and his spouse led a delegation from the Vietnamese Embassy to visit and extend congratulations to the Lao Embassy on the occasion of the 50th National Day of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (December 2, 1975–2025).

Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh conveyed his warmest congratulations to Lao Ambassador to China Somphone Sichaleune, his spouse, and all officials and staff of the Lao Embassy on this significant occasion for the country and the fraternal Lao people, emphasising that the founding of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic marked an important milestone that opened a new era for the Lao multi-ethnic people.

Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh expressed his deep appreciation for the achievements attained by Laos over the past 50 years and affirmed his confidence that under the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, the Lao people will continue to reap even greater successes on the path of building an independent, peaceful, stable, and prosperous nation.

The ambassador stressed that the celebration of the 50th National Day of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic is not only meaningful to the Lao people but also a shared joy of the country and people of Viet Nam; affirming that throughout history, the two parties, the two states, and the peoples of both countries have stood shoulder to shoulder, sharing hardships and fighting together for independence and freedom, thereby forging the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos.

On the occasion, Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh also conveyed his gratitude to Lao localities for assisting localities in Viet Nam in overcoming recent natural disaster impacts.

Expressing his heartfelt appreciation for the warm sentiments and good wishes from Viet Nam, Lao Ambassador to China Somphone Sichaleune sincerely thanked the party, state, and people of Viet Nam for always standing side by side with the Lao people, contributing significantly to the victories of the Lao revolution; affirming that the achievements Laos has attained in recent years bear the profound imprint of the solidarity, sharing, and wholehearted support from Viet Nam.

The Lao Ambassador emphasised that the state visit to Laos to attend the 50th National Day celebrations and co-chair the high-level meeting between the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party by General Secretary To Lam and his spouse is vivid testimony to the special, close-knit relationship between the two countries, considering it a precious asset that needs to be preserved and nurtured.

The ambassador affirmed that Viet Nam continues to be a great friend and loyal comrade that has been and remains steadfast in supporting Laos in its national construction and development.

The two sides agreed to strengthen coordination and exchanges between the two embassies in China, contributing to the overall development of Viet Nam–Laos relations.
