The index closed 7.1 points higher after losing 25.3 points yesterday.
Trading on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE), on which the index is based, fell 6.7% to 19.24 trillion VND, with 254 gainers and 227 losers.
The HNX-Index for stocks on the Hanoi Stock Exchange, home to mid and small caps, gained 0.69%, with 67 gainers and 80 losers. The total trading volume on the Hanoi exchange reached more than 1.347 trillion VND.
Meanwhile, the UPCoM-Index for the Unlisted Public Companies Market rose 0.05% to 85.19 points.
