VUFO strengthens coordination with Vietnamese representative offices abroad

The Vietnam Union and Friendship Organisation (VUFO) on March 28 held a meeting with Ambassadors and Heads of the Vietnamese representative offices abroad, for the 2023-2026 tenure, before leaving for duty.

At the meeting, the President of the VUFO Nguyen Phuong Nga appreciated the good coordination between representative offices abroad and the VUFO over the past years, especially in people-to-people diplomacy.

She expressed her hope that the cooperation between the VUFO and Vietnamese representative offices abroad will be deepened and more effective, contributing to enhancing the friendship between Vietnam and other countries, while raising the position and prestige of Vietnam in the international arena.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Quang Hieu said, among the country's achievements, the three pillars of Party diplomacy, State diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy, have made great contributions to maintaining peace and stability, in addition to safeguarding national independence and sovereignty.

Regarding people-to-people diplomacy, Deputy Minister Pham Quang Hieu stressed the importance of this pillar and requested to further deepen the coordination between the VUFO and representative offices, contributing to boosting the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and other countries around the world.

The Ambassadors and Heads of the Vietnamese representative offices abroad expressed their determination and efforts to fulfil their missions, for the benefit of the nation.

The delegation included 16 Ambassadors and Heads of Vietnamese representative offices for the 2023-2026 tenure, performing their duty in 48 countries across continents.
