A workshop was held on March 6 to discuss the theoretical and practical values of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s recently published book, on the fight against corruption.

Entitled “Resolutely and patiently fighting corruption and negative phenomena, helping to make the Party and State purer and stronger”, the book was published by the National Political Publishing House in February.

In his remarks, Politburo member and Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Nguyen Xuan Thang stated that the book reflects the Party’s consistent mindset on fighting corruption and negative phenomena.

He added that the value in which the book provides is a sharp tool helping to protect the Party’s ideological foundation and refute hostile forces’ arguments about Vietnam’s anti-corruption campaign.

The book is also a manual for the fight against corruption and a bedside book for Party members to reflect and correct themselves, emphasised Thang.

With nearly 40 articles and speeches, the workshop concluded that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s book is highly valuable, in terms of both theory and reality, affirming that combating corruption is a necessary task and an irreversible trend.
