Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed Official Telegram No. 33/CD-TTg on April 7, 2025, regarding the organisation of groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies for national key projects and major works on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification.

The official telegram states that the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025) and national reunification is an opportunity to reflect on the nation’s glorious history and the journey of building and developing the country, as well as to gain a deeper understanding of the values and lessons learned from the nation’s struggle. These lessons provide strength and determination in building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, transforming past achievements into motivation to fulfil the nation’s historical mission in a new era - an era of rising, prosperity, civilisation, happiness, and wealth for the Vietnamese people.

In the spirit of nationwide excitement on this historic occasion, the government will hold online groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies simultaneously across the North, Central, and South regions for key projects and major works to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification. These events are scheduled to be held nationwide on April 19, 2025.

This is a significant event. The prime minister has requested a review and compilation of key national projects and major works from various sectors and provinces (including transportation, energy, industry, healthcare, education, irrigation, digital infrastructure, climate change response, culture, etc.) that meet the conditions for groundbreaking or inauguration. The list should be submitted to the Government Office for consolidation and reporting to the prime minister by April 12, 2025, including details such as the project name, type, and scale.
