A total of 21,114 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported by 93 countries and regions outside China as of 10:00 CET Saturday (March 7), an increase of 3,633 infections from the previous day, according to the daily situation report released by the World Health Organization (WHO) Saturday evening. The number of confirmed cases worldwide has risen by 3,735 to 101,927 on Saturday, according to the report. Outside China, 78 more people died of COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, bringing the total deaths to 413.

* Cambodia's Heath Minister Mam Bunheng announced on Saturday that a Cambodian man had infected with the COVID-19, becoming the first local person to contract the virus. It was the second confirmed case of COVID-19 in Cambodia. According to Bunheng, Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen had ordered all schools in the Siem Reap City to be shut down temporarily.

* Singapore recorded eight new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 138, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said on Saturday. Four of eight new cases were linked with the new contagious cluster involving a private dinner function at the Joy Garden restaurant in west Singapore. So far 21 cases were reported from this cluster.

* Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to declare a "state of public health emergency" after the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed the local spread of novel coronavirus disease in the country, his spokesman said on Saturday. * Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte announced on Sunday a quarantine on the entire Lombardy region and a number of northern provinces as the coronavirus continued to spread throughout the country. Italy's current confirmed cases of coronavirus reached 5,061 on Saturday, excluding 233 deaths and 589 recoveries, according to the Civil Protection Department.

* The Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education announced on Saturday that the novel coronavirus disease in Iran has claimed 145 lives, official IRNA news agency reported. Kianush Jahanpur, head of Public Relations and Information Center of the ministry, said the total number of the cases now stands at 5,823, out of whom 1,663 have recovered.

* Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the COVID-19 situation in the country at a meeting with all ministries and departments concerned on Saturday. Modi directed the officials to identify locations for sufficient quarantine facilities and be prepared in case the disease spreads further. India confirmed three more cases of the COVID-19 on Saturday, taking the total number of the cases to 34.

* People from China and ROK were moving forward their travel plans to Japan on Saturday as the Japanese government will start quarantine all arrivals from the two countries from Monday. The number of the COVID-19 cases in Japan had risen to 1,137 as of 7:00 p.m. local time on Saturday, an increase of 63 cases from a day earlier.

* The total number of the COVID-19 cases in Australia reached 72 as of Saturday evening with six new patients tested positive in the state of New South Wales (NSW).
