The contest is among activities to celebrate the ninth National Congress of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, which is scheduled for late November.

The contest aims to increase understanding of Buddhism in society and the Buddhist community, while honouring and preserving humane value of Buddhism.

It is open to everyone, from monks, nuns, Buddhist followers and practitioners to those who are interested in Buddhism both at home and abroad.

The entrants are requested to submit an essay, which has not been published elsewhere, with a length of less than 1,500 words. Entries written in a foreign language must be attached with a Vietnamese translation.

The entries must also include the author’s full name, his Dharma name (if any), address, and phone number.

Submissions should be emailed to the info@phatgiao.org.vn no later than April 30, 2023. Winners of the contest will be announced and awarded at a ceremony scheduled for May 2023.
