2026 Thang Long–Ha Noi Festival opens

The second Thang Long–Ha Noi Festival 2026, under the theme “Heritage Flow”, officially opened at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel in Ba Dinh Ward on the evening of September 11.

The event, organised by the Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee, was attended by Politburo Member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc.

Building on the success of its inaugural edition, the second Thang Long–Ha Noi Festival runs from September 11 to 20 across a range of cultural venues, including the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the Temple of Literature, the Ha Noi Museum, Bat Trang Pottery Village and Hoan Kiem Lake, featuring more than 20 distinctive cultural, artistic and tourism activities.

The festival brings together more than 3,000 artists and performers, along with over 100 artisans and heritage-practising communities from across the capital, who are directly involved in performing, practising, safeguarding and transmitting heritage within their communities. It also features art troupes and artisans from provinces and cities across the country, as well as three traditional art troupes and music groups from the Republic of Korea, Japan and India.

Throughout the festival, visitors can experience a wide range of activities celebrating distinctive traditional cultural values, including showcases of outstanding traditional crafts; calligraphy exhibitions and exchanges; displays of distinctive traditional drum collections; folk art performances; dialogues on music; and creative activities inspired by the heritages.

The series of events aims to contribute to the development of cultural industries and strengthen Ha Noi’s brand as a capital of heritages.
