The three-day event aimed to promote the local culture and agricultural products, serving the shopping needs of the people in the area during the Lunar New Year 2023.
The market attracted the participation of 40 booths of businesses from 16 communes, towns and districts. The goods on display were local agricultural products, including OCOP products and typical mountainous products such as honey, bamboo shoots, glutinous rice, and dong leaves for wrapping “chung” cake.
In addition, the market also promoted the unique culture of Van Kieu and Ta Oi ethnic minorities, such as traditional musical instruments, costumes, folk songs, and traditional crafts of knitting, brocade weaving and making.
According to the Secretary of the Huong Hoa District Party Committee Nguyen Tang and Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the Huong Hoa District People's Committee Dang Trong Van, the highland market is the highlight of the grassroots culture in the series of activities to celebrate Tet, while at the same time sent a message that Huong Hoa is a land rich in cultural identity, an attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists.
